Peter Rabbit is…a Patricia

OK, so my husband thinks my cat’s balls are funny… I was looking at the pictures he took on the camera (he sometimes takes “surprise” pictures) and I saw this one:

Awwww, so cuuuute. Then I saw this picture:

ugh. Cat balls. In a picture. I don’t mind seeing them when I see the whole him, but there’s just something sad about a neutered cat’s balls being the focal point of a photo. Thanks Tony.

And that rabbit that I chased out of the yard the other day with Tay…is a baby mama. I went into the yard the day after and found babies. 4 adorable baby rabbits. I didn’t bring Tay out again.

At first when I saw the bunny, I thought it was an escaped chinchilla, or giant mouse or guinea pig/hamster animal. Someone’s pet. Undeniably cute, but with its baby ears, not much like a rabbit…

There were 4 of them, tho I usually only get to see 2 at a time. They spread themselves out around the yard, hopping and doing their baby bunny thing.

If you walk carefully and don’t make any sudden moves, they will let you approach quite closely, and then take off like lightning if you come in their comfort zone.

And in the middle of the night, usually between 9:30 and 10:30 at night, the mama comes out and nurses the babies. Our yard is a milk bar for the baby rabbits. You can’t see it well in the picture, because we were scared of frightening them and we didn’t use flash, but this is the 4 of them in the yard nursing.

Been a few days since I’ve seen them, but I think they’re still out there, and I just don’t look at the right times. Tony misses them, though, and wants to see them again. They are really adorable…

And sometimes they come right up on the porch…
